Fieldwork is a small team of 3-5 members of the Basecamp cohort, working together part time on a live sustainability challenge for an organization. We estimate the time required for a fieldwork project is least three working days total, over the course of about six to eight weeks. Some teams may decide to take more time, but you probably won’t take less.

You’ll apply your learning from the initial in-person session of the program, and produce a systems diagnostic with the support of an experienced coach and a designer.

There will be 4-5 projects for this cohort. You will be offered the opportunity to express your preference for these projects; however the School of System Change team will be responsible for curating the teams for each Fieldwork project. You will be informed which team you are on at the beginning of the course.

Most of the Fieldwork is remote, although some of the projects may offer site visits as part of the process. Dates and locations for this will be communicated when the projects are announced.
