Principal Strategist - Energy Transition (Philippines)

Background

I'm truly excited to begin my role as Principal Strategist for the Energy Transition with Forum for the Future. Based in the Philippines, I look forward to contributing to a just and regenerative clean energy system here, especially as a core delivery partner for the Responsible Energy Initiative Philippines (REI PH) programme.

Over the past 15 years in the sustainable energy sector, I've had the opportunity to engage with various aspects of its development. This has included contributing to renewable energy projects and policy work at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), alongside practical involvement in developing solar, wind, and hydropower initiatives with past organizations.

Through these experiences, I've aimed to build a comprehensive understanding of the Philippine energy landscape, from policy and private sector practices to civil society engagement. My work typically involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders to translate strategic goals into actionable steps, applying skills in project management and climate policy analysis.

My dream project

To pioneer and establish world-class benchmarks for the implementation of clean energy projects, creating a blueprint where ecological safety and social justice are not just aspirations but fundamental, embedded components. My dream is to see a renewable energy project in the Philippines serve as a global exemplar of what a truly just and regenerative energy transition can achieve.

What floats my boat outside work?

Away from strategy sessions and energy frameworks, my wife and I find immense joy in exploring the diverse narratives of humanity through world cinema. Attending film festivals, immersing ourselves in stories from different cultures, and discovering new perspectives on screen is how I recharge and expand my understanding of the world.
